Experience Europe on 9 May: Europe Day in Bonn and Augsburg
Europe Day on 9 May provides the ideal setting to engage with citizens on sustainable consumption, credible ecolabels and the benefits of the EU Ecolabel. In Bonn, Europe Day takes place under the motto “We are Europe” at the market square in front of the Old Town Hall. A public city festival is planned, featuring information stands from numerous Europe-focused organisations as well as a stage programme with a European theme. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The EU Ecolabel will also be represented in Augsburg on Europe Day. The Europe Festival at Rathausplatz is part of Augsburg’s Europe Weeks 2026 and invites visitors to experience Europe in everyday life through interactive information stands, stage and children’s programmes, as well as numerous hands-on activities. The event also takes place on 9 May, with a programme scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Munich in June: EU Ecolabel at the Zamanand Festival
On 20 and 21 June 2026, the EU Ecolabel will be present at the Zamanand Festival in Munich. The festival is designed as an open, creative urban space in the heart of the city, bringing together people, ideas, culture and civic engagement. With “Zamanand in Europe”, a dedicated programme area is once again planned to highlight European diversity, exchange and future-oriented topics. Visitors can look forward to a diverse stage programme featuring music, performances and inspiring contributions.
For the EU Ecolabel, the festival is a suitable platform to reach younger and urban target groups in particular—people who see sustainability not just as a duty, but as part of a modern lifestyle. The focus is on how reliable labels can help support more conscious decisions in everyday life. Festival information also highlights good accessibility by public transport, further underlining the event’s sustainable character.
Essen in July: Hands-on sustainability at the Gutes Klima Festival
Another stop is the Gutes Klima Festival in Essen on 11 July 2026 at Zeche Carl. The festival runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will take place for the sixth time in 2026. Visitors can expect a wide range of offerings from more than 100 initiatives, associations, institutions and committed groups from Essen and beyond. Admission is free.
What makes the festival particularly appealing is its approach: it focuses on dialogue, inspiration and practical, everyday solutions rather than finger-pointing. Planned highlights for 2026 include themes such as “Green Business 2.0”, a “Young Power” campus and contributions on the future of food. This is exactly where the EU Ecolabel connects—by making more sustainable products and services visible and helping consumers to more easily consider environmental aspects in their purchasing decisions.
Why we are on site
With the “Why EU Ecolabel” campaign, we aim to show that sustainable consumption becomes easier when consumers rely on credible, transparent and Europe-wide recognised labels. Events such as Europe Day, the Zamanand Festival, the Gutes Klima Festival or German Unity Day provide the ideal space to engage directly—openly, practical and personal.
At all events, we work together with the local offices of the European Union – EUROPE DIRECT.
We look forward to making the EU Ecolabel visible at these events in 2026 and to meeting many people on site.
