The EU Ecolabel was launched by the European Commission in 1992. Since then, the label has stood for Europe-wide environmental protection - and we'd like to celebrate this together with you this year! Visit us on our Germany tour.
The EU Ecolabel roadshow
Around 95,000 environmentally friendly products and services have been awarded the EU Ecolabel. This year the EU Ecolabel celebrates its 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the EU Commission is planning an e-bike roadshow through ten European countries and twelve cities in Germany this summer. The rolling exhibition booth is fully eco-friendly and includes an e-bike trailer, information boards on the EU Ecolabel and a wheel of fortune for the visitors. The organisers in Germany are the Federal Environment Agency and RAL. Visitors can expect not only an exciting showroom on wheels, but also great wheel of fortune prizes and a photo station. Join us and be a part of the EU Ecolabel anniversary!
We look forward to your visit.

EU Ecolabel - The mark for Europe-wide environmental protection
With the EU Ecolabel you can recognise environmentally friendly products and services. The products range from detergents and cleaning agents to cosmetics, textiles, paints and electrical appliances. Since 2000, services such as hotels and campsites have also been awarded the EU Ecolabel. There are now around 90,000 products and services bearing this trusted environmental label, which is recognised in all 27 EU member states as well as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Click here to see all EU Ecolabel product groups.
To be awarded the EU Ecolabel, which is recognised throughout Europe and the world, products and services must meet high environmental standards throughout their life cycle: from raw material extraction to production and disposal.
Products with the EU Ecolabel:
- cause less waste, pollution and CO2 emissions (reduced environmental impact)
- Limit the use of hazardous chemicals (chemical restriction)
- use energy, water and raw materials more efficiently (resource efficiency)
- are more durable, easier to repair and recycle (durability)
The purpose of the EU Ecolabel, introduced on 23 March 1992 by the Council Regulation on a Community eco-label award scheme, was originally to "promote the design, production, marketing and use of products which have a reduced environmental impact during their entire life cycle" and to "provide consumers with better information on the environmental impact of products".
The EU Ecolabel continues to set the standard for Europe-wide environmental protection.
