# EU Ecolabel: growing awareness and a record number of certified products

The EU Ecolabel continues to gain prominence: the 2026 Eurobarometer survey shows growing awareness and strong consumer trust. At the same time, the number of certified products and licences awarded has reached record highs.



**Awareness and trust are growing**

46% of Europeans recognise the EU Ecolabel – up from 38% in 2023. The same proportion say they buy products carrying the label. 81% of respondents trust the label. For businesses, this trend offers opportunities to showcase their environmental commitment.

**More than 121,000 certified products**

According to the latest “[EU Ecolabel Facts & Figures](https://green-forum.ec.europa.eu/green-business/eu-ecolabel/businesses/eu-ecolabel-facts-and-figures_en)”, a total of **121,083 products and services** were certified and **3,665 licences** had been awarded as of 1 September 2026. Since March, 4,391 products and 124 licences have been added – an increase of around 4% in each case.

Growth is particularly strong in the furniture category, with 1,900 additional products. Tourist accommodation leads the increase in licences, with 66 newly awarded.

**Germany ranks fourth**

With 10,915 certified products, Germany ranks fourth behind Italy, Spain and France. The range spans cleaning products and cosmetics, textiles and furniture, as well as tourist accommodation.
